Do You Need a Visa for Mongolia?

If you're a citizen of a country with a visa exemption agreement, you may not need a visa, just make sure your stay doesn’t exceed the allowed period. For the full list of visa-free countries, check out: Visa-Free Countries.

Applying for a Mongolian Visa

E-Visa: Mongolia now issues e-visas to tourists from 98 countries to make travel easier! Apply for one at evisa.mn and receive approval within 72 hours.

E-Visa Categories:

  • K2 Visa – For tourists exploring Mongolia’s breathtaking landscapes.

  • K4 Visa – For travelers participating in sports, cultural, and film projects.

  • K6 Visa – Transit visa (valid for up to 10 days).

Important: Keep a printed or digital version of your e-visa to present to airlines and Mongolian border officials upon arrival.

If your country isn’t eligible for an e-visa, you’ll need to apply at a Mongolian embassy or consulate. Find your nearest diplomatic mission here.
