The 10th annual “Ulaanbaatar Marathon 2025” took place on May 24, 2025, attracting approximately 30,000 runners from 41 countries. Participants competed in races ranging from 500 meters to 42 kilometers, with this year’s 5 km, 21 km, and 42 km courses introducing a new route. Beyond the competition, the event featured sports, cultural, and health activities and food services to enhance the overall experience.
During the opening ceremony, Nyambaatar Khishgee, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, highlighted the Marathon’s growing role in Mongolia’s running culture, describing it as an international festival. He encouraged young people to push their limits, build endurance, and embrace running to promote physical and mental well-being.
For the fourth consecutive year, Hipay partnered with event organizers to digitalize registration and enhance race tracking through an automated RFID system. This technology recorded start and finish times, captured finish-line photos, and monitored performance metrics, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
Additionally, around 450 young volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the event, assisting runners and organizers throughout the Marathon.
