If you are planning a journey to the "Land of the Eternal Blue Sky" in 2026, this is the official green light you’ve been waiting for. Whether you’re dreaming of the golden dunes of the Gobi, the lush valleys of Terelj, or a quiet retreat at the Aryabal Meditation Temple, the path to Mongolia has never been more open.

To support the ongoing "Go Mongolia" national tourism initiative, the Mongolian government has officially confirmed the extension of its welcoming visa policies through December 31, 2026. This means that for many travelers, visiting the heart of Central Asia is now a seamless, paperwork-free experience for another consecutive year.

The Big News for 2026: "Exemption 34" Extended!

We are thrilled to confirm that the visa-free entry for 34 major countries—originally set to expire at the end of 2025—has been officially renewed until January 1, 2027.

If you hold an ordinary passport from these countries, you can enter Mongolia for tourism purposes for up to 30 dayswithout needing a visa:

Oceania: Australia and New Zealand.

Europe: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and others.

Long-Standing Visa-Free Partners (Up to 90 Days)

The USA and Canada continue their long-standing streak of accessibility. Depending on your passport, you can stay even longer:

Up to 90 Days: USA, Canada, South Korea (extension confirmed through 2026), Brazil, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Serbia.

Up to 60 Days: Thailand (recently increased).

Up to 30 Days: Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, Israel, UAE, and Uzbekistan.

Short Stays: Philippines (21 days) and Hong Kong (14 days).

Not on the list? No problem!

If your country isn't mentioned above, Mongolia’s E-Visa (K-1 Tourism) remains one of the fastest and most efficient in the world. You can apply online at evisa.mn and typically receive your approval in just 48 to 72 hours.

3 Essential Tips for Your 2026 Trip

  1. Check Your Passport: Ensure it is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

  2. Mandatory Registration: All foreign visitors must be registered with the Mongolian Immigration Agency within 48 hours of arrival. Most hotels and tourist camps handle this for you automatically—be sure to confirm this with your host!

  3. New for 2026: Easier Flights: 2026 marks a major expansion in Mongolian aviation, including new direct routes like Toronto to Ulaanbaatar starting in June. It’s never been easier to fly directly into the heart of Eurasia.

Are your bags packed yet? Check your passport, confirm your country's status on the list, and get ready to experience the nomadic soul of Mongolia in 2026! 🚀✨
