The results of the fifth International Chemistry Olympiad were announced on August 2. The Olympiad was held in Higashiosaka, Japan from the 24th and 2nd of August, and 312 students from 79 countries participated. The Mongolian team won 2 silvers, 1 bronze and 1 special place prizes at the Chemistry Olympiad. There are 6 main Olympiads organized internationally. These include: Mathematic, Informatics, Chemistry, Biologists, Physics, Geography.

This year, our students participated in five Olympiads except geography and won two gold, six silver and seven bronze medals, while 4 students won special places. This year, Mongolian students have won 19 awards. Normally, students receive an average of 3-5 medals a year. According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, a working group has been set up by the Minister's order to select and train students in order to cancel the National Olympiads and not to interrupt the International Olympic Games.
