"If Only I Could Hibernate," a feature film directed by P. Zoljargal, continues to garner international attention, adding another award to its growing list of accolades.
Specifically, "If Only I Could Hibernate" won the Jury Prize - Honorable Mention at the 47th São Paulo International Film Festival on November 1, 2023. Film Director P. Zoljargal received the award trophy on January 7, 2024. The Film competed with 117 films in the New Filmmakers Competition. The jury team of the competition was headed by Bosnian-Serbian Film Director and Screenwriter Emir Kusturica. The Jury Prize - Honorable Mention marks the first award of 2024 for the film crew of "If Only I Could Hibernate," who received critical acclaim and audience recognition last year when the film was nominated for the “Un Certain Regard” selection of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
In addition, the Film will premiere in France on January 10, 2024, in Switzerland on January 11, 2024, and in Mongolia on January 12, 2024.
“If Only I Could Hibernate” tells the story of a teenage boy, Ulizii, who lives in the ger district of Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar. He is a physics genius who has secured a university scholarship. But after his alcoholic mother leaves for the countryside, he and his younger siblings have to survive the winter.
