A Gateway Between Asia’s Heartlands
The new service eliminates the need for connections through Beijing or Seoul, cutting travel time and making Mongolia more accessible to Southeast Asian travellers. For Singaporeans, it opens the door to one of Asia’s most awe-inspiring destinations, a land of endless steppes, snow-capped mountains, and timeless nomadic culture.
“This new route is more than a flight, it’s a bridge between two regions,” said MIAT CEO Munkhtamir Batbayar, noting that the airline is eager to welcome travellers to Mongolia’s pristine wilderness and vibrant traditions.
Why Visit Mongolia in 2025–2026
Mongolia promises breathtaking natural beauty and authentic cultural encounters all year round:
- Summer (Jun–Aug): Rolling green plains, the Naadam Festival, horse riding, and camping under endless skies.
- Autumn (Sep–Oct): Crisp air, golden landscapes, fewer crowds.
- Winter (Nov–Feb): Frozen lakes, ice festivals, dog-sledding, and unforgettable starry nights.
- Spring (Mar–May): Blooming valleys and local cultural events.
Top experiences:
- Explore Gobi Desert dunes and flaming cliffs.
- Stay overnight in a traditional ger (yurt) camp.
- Visit Gandan Monastery, Terelj National Park, and Khustai Nuruu (home of the wild Przewalski’s horses).
- Sample Mongolian cuisine — from buuz dumplings to airag (fermented mare’s milk).
Singapore citizens enjoy visa-free entry to Mongolia for up to 30 days (as of 2025).
A Strengthened Partnership
The launch of this route coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Singapore. The two nations have recently deepened cooperation in trade, green energy, and sustainable development. In October 2025, they signed a carbon-credit partnership under the Paris Agreement, highlighting their shared commitment to climate action and responsible tourism.
This direct air link supports not just leisure travel, but also business exchange, student mobility, and eco-investment opportunities between the two countries.
