Permission to use the Saliva test developed by the Mongolian scientists has been handed over to the scientists of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences.
The Ministry of Education and Science made finance of MNT 47 million for the development of the diagnosis tool. The test will be used starting from tomorrow officially.
Currently, 4000 saliva tests are available and equipment is required for sufficient reserve. The cost of a single test is MNT 31,200 but could be reduced to MNT 7,800.
Saliva tests are being used in other countries, but this test is the first product that is approved in Mongolia.
The project of saliva test was started in December 2020, and it detects Covid-19 100%. Clinical trials were performed on 40 patients, compared with 15 in Japan and 13 in the U.S.
